Terminology surrounding what is called in the world of
Gemstones and Crystals as "Phenomena"
The Power of Gemstones
Super 7 (Melody Stone) SUPER SEVEN CRYSTAL

|
ADULARESCENCE - Moonstone, being a variety of feldspar,
shows a blue-whitish billowing light, which glides over
the surface when the stone is cut into a cabochon form
and rocked back and forth under a light (sun or lamp).
The billowing light when the stone is rocked back and
forth is caused by very small inclusions in the stone
(layers) which serve as a reflectance surface(s).
ASTERISM - This is the effect of light rays forming a
star. The rays meet in one point and the number of rays
can be up to 12 (rare for saphires) from a low of 4
(garnets). These stars are created through reflection of
light by thin fiberous or needle-like inclusions that
lie in the same plane, perpendicular to the stone's
surface (they are aligned parallel to the base of the
stone, oriented at different angles to themselves).
Usually, ruby and sapphires (all colors) will show 6
rays. You can also have stars in synthetic gemstones.
ADVENTURESCENCE - Colorful play of glittering
reflections of small, plate-or-leaf like inclusions
located near the surface of the stone. The inclusions
are hematite or goethite in the case of aventurine
feldspar, fuchsite or hematite in aventuring quartz, or
copper scrapings (very small) in what is called
"goldstone" which is man-made (copper scrapings in
glass).
CHATOYANCY - An effect which resenbles the slit eye of a
cat caused by the reflection of light by very fine
parallel fibers, needles, or channels. You can see the
effect when the stone is cut in a cabochon shape in such
a way that the base is parallel to the fibers. Tiger Eye
quartz is a good example of this Chatoyancy effect. The
fibers are always parallel to the base and aligned in
the same direction (as oppose to the star effect where
the fibers are also parallel to the base but aligned at
an angle to each other). Fiber Optic (man made)
materials also illustrate this chatoyancy.
IRIDESCENCE - The rainbow-like hues seen in some gems
caused by cracks or structural layers on/near the
surface breaking up the light into its spectral colors
(rainbow of colors, not just one or two colors). Fire
agate is a natural stone that shows this phenomenon. You
can also create this effect by artifically cracking rock
crystal (clear quartz) so the light bounces off the
cracks creating rainbow colors. Its like the peacock
feather colors and the rainbow of colors from an oil
slick on water.
LABRADORESCENCE - Iridescence in metallic hues, called
by some as "shiller". Found in the stone Labradorite
(also called Spectrolite). In Labradorite, the colors
are a broad flash of a few colors, not a rainbow of
colors as you see with iridescence. This effect is
caused by an interference of light as it penetrates into
and is reflected back (out) from very thin layers of
material concentrated near the surface of the stone.
ORIENT - Iridescence in pearls. Created by interference
of light by shingle-like layers of aragonite platelets
near the pearl surface. Same as Iridescence only Orient
relates to pearls.
Gemstones of the World: Walter Shumann
The inherent
powers of gemstones are recognized by modern science in
the technological use of crystals in watches, lasers,
and computers. In addition to their use in modern
science, throughout history, gemstones have been
recognized and used to heal, protect, divine, manifest,
transmute and transform energy. They are storehouses of
empowerment, transmitted through contact with body, mind
and spirit.
All living and “non-living” things vibrate to particular
frequencies. Gemstones and crystals have a pure energy.
When the vibrations of gemstones/crystals come into
contact with our own vibration, they will have an effect
in much the same way as we experience sound waves. It is
believed that the influence of your astrology sign is
strengthened by wearing, holding or carrying, gemstones
associated with the constellation under which you were
born and gemstones you have a particular connection
with.
Melody's Stone is
a much-needed gift from the Espirito Santo (meaning Holy
Spirit) region of Minas Gerais, Brazil. Also called
Sacred Seven, they are yet another stone which never
needs clearing or cleansing.
Contained within the Super Seven Crystal, Melody's Stone
are all the energies of Amethyst, Clear Quartz, Smokey
Quartz, Cacoxenite, Rutile, Goethite and Lepidocrosite
combined. The stone exhibits a phenomenon often referred
to as St. Elmo's Fire, or the electro-magnetic emissions
sometimes seen during an electric storm above a spire or
the mast of a ship.
Super Seven Crystal, Melody's Stone are also said to
exhibit a display resembling Aurora Borealis, or the
Northern Lights Super Seven Crystal, Melody's Stone
contains the properties of at least seven different
minerals, making them tremendously "potent," and some of
the natural crystals have exhibited other incredible
characteristics and habits as well.
